Service was ok. We could've had our coffee refilled more considering it wasn't busy. Food is pretty consistent, you get what you asked for, and it arrived in a timely manner. We both got the Southwest Eggs Benedict. The homefries were bland, but the eggs were fabulous.
Location was clean and had 3 different sizes of booths. Like all Wimpy's locations, they only have booths and stools at the bar. -

Asked for Eggs Benedict to come soft and basically got hard boiled eggs slapped on top of undercooked bacon. Homefries were just bad all around, overheard the waitress telling the cook to go easy on the oil after already paying our bill. To top off the experience 3 of us got home and we're sick all morning. Not worth the money.

I wasn't fooling myself into expecting a 5-star restaurant when I walked in the door but I figured I would at the very least get a satisfactory meal at a very reasonable cost. I was grossly disappointed on both accounts. The food was bland and fell short of mediocrity. The cost was astonishingly over priced considering the sandwiches were ranging between $8.00-$12.00 and were only accompanied by a small bowl of colslaw. If you want fries, expect to pay extra. My order of a sandwich with fries came out over $20 after taxes. Way too expensive for what's nothing more than a really crappy diner.

We've lived in Whitby for 29 years and had never eaten at Wimpey's Diner. That changed today when our favourite breakfast spot was lined up out the doors so we decided on a whim to try It. Big mistake! The place was busy with a breakfast crowd with 2 waitresses and one cook working. We ordered a clubhouse and montecristo sandwich, both which came with a side of coleslaw. My husband ordered a plate of French fries for us to share. 40 minutes later our breakfast came- my sandwich was cold and the coleslaw container had one fork full of coleslaw. The "order of fries" was a handful of about a dozen fries on my husbands plate which we were charged $4.99 for. The ketchup we asked for never came. The table sitting behind us, who arrived before we did, were still waiting for their food when we left. To add insult to injury, we found out after we had eaten, their debit machine was down and my husband had to walk to an ATM machine and pay a $3.00 service charge to get cash. The bill for 2 coffees, a BLT with a side of slaw, a montecristo with one mouthful of slaw, and 12 fries plus tax was $27.00, What a rip off!! The worst part, was when a woman, who I took to be the cook's wife, told a woman dining alone who was just finishing her coffee after eating breakfast, to move to a stool at the counter to free up her table! Won't be back for at least another 29 years! If I could rate this place zero stars I would.

After a night of house hunting, I took my boyfriend to Wimpy's in Whitby to get a quick bite to eat. This Wimpys is located just north of Dundas at Brock road on the east side.
One thing I always love about Wimpy's is the classic diner atmosphere. On top of that, the menu here is pretty large so you can find some good diner food to suit just about anyone. They had a few specials on but I ended up going with the Wimpy's turkey club and my boyfriend got chicken fingers. The restaurant was pretty quiet so we got our food quickly and our server was very friendly and accommodating when we needed more time with the menus.
I LOOOOVE the club at Wimpy's - its a great size, big enough for dinner and the only time I've been able to have a side of fries or something is if I split it with someone else. This is probably one of my ultimate club sandwiches - YUM!
Overall, Wimpy's is a great diner with predictably great food. I'll be back to try out some more things and see what else they have to offer - but its going to be hard to tear me away from that club sandwich!
